A tough 1849 better date braided hair half cent graded XF 40 BN by NGC. NGC has notated this coin to be the ‘Large Date’ C-1 variety. A very hard date to find in this mid-grade level housed in an NGC holder.
This date holds a tiny mintage of only 39,864. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 1,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only nine graded Extra Fine 40 by NGC.
